Tribute to Liberation

Rodrigo Satori, from Brazil, sent us this amazing WWII diorama portraying the liberation of Auschwitz. The detail is incredible and serves to set a very emotional scene.

"My interest in modeling these dioramas is due to the fact that I'm passionate about the history of the Second World War, especially staging the battle scenes. I model a lot of trucks and my initial idea for this diorama was to stage a summer when the guards were on watch with dogs and a supply truck was coming on the field.

This project stood for about four years, and in 2012 I decided to continue its assembly. Because of the controversial nature of this topic, I decided to change the original idea and model the day of the Auschwitz liberation by the Soviet Army on January 27, 1945. Since it snowed a lot this time of year, I used Woodland Scenics Soft Flake Snow. In all the places I present this diorama, everyone asks me how I modeled the snow so realistically. I simply point to your product.

    Thank you.
